Obba Babatund

Obba Babatundé was born December 1, 1951 in Jamaica, New York, best known for his roles in the television movies “Miss Evers’ Boys” and “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” as well one of the original cast of the 1981 Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.”

Babatundé is multi-talented and can dance, sing, play multiple instruments, communicate with American Sign Language and excels at impersonations. His long-running television and film career spans decades and includes roles in primetime (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Chicago Hope”), the big screen (“That Thing You Do!” “The Manchurian Candidate”), and daytime, including “All My Children” and “The Young and the Restless.”

In July 2015 he began appearing as Julius Avant on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
